Data Protection Declaration – Database
Data protection guidelines for visitors and users of the database at qs-plattform.de as well as QS app users
Thank you for your interest in our company. Data protection is particularly important to QS Qualität und Sicherheit GmbH (hereafter called QS
for short). With the following data protection declaration we inform you about the rights you are entitled to in connection with the use of the public search for scheme participants of the QS software platform as well as the use of QS apps.
I. Basic Principles
1. Data Protection
The sustained protection of your data is extremely important to us. As the operator of the QS database, QS is subject to the provisions of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR) as well as federal data protection law (BDSG) when collecting and processing personal data. This guideline explains which data the QS database collects while you are on or using the site and while using the public search for scheme participants and how these data are processed and used in the database in keeping with these regulations and laws.
QS reserves the right to adapt the information provided in this data protection declaration to conform with modified laws, jurisdictions, or business processes without prior warning. The version published here always maintains validity.
2. Collecting and Processing Your Data
The use of the publicly accessible area of the QS software platform (https://qs-plattform.de) of QS Qualität und Sicherheit GmbH is basically possible without any specification of personal data. While you are using the public search for scheme participants (without log-in), our server automatically collects and stores information that your browser provides in its log files. This information is as follows:
- Browser type and version
- Operating system being used
- The previously visited page
- The host name of the accessing computer (IP address)
- Time of server query
These data cannot be attributed to an individual. They only serve for statistical evaluations and operating security. These data are not merged with other data sources.
3. Use and Sharing of Your Data
The QS software platform does not use the information in the log files for any other purpose. QS does not share personal data with other external third parties, provided there is no obligation to do so on the part of authorities, or unless you have provided your express consent.
4. The Use of Cookies
If cookies are refused, the functionality of the public search for scheme participants of the QS software platform may be affected.
5. Data Security
In order to protect the information from the log files, we have taken extensive technical and operational security precautions. The security measures being used by the QS database are checked regularly and adapted to technological progress. The individual technical and organisational measures undertaken to ensure data security will not be listed for security reasons.
Push notifications when using a QS app
If you would like to receive push notifications, even if you are not in our app, you must allow us to do so. We will ask for this when you first install (Android) or use (iOS) the app. All details about the services our app offers can be found under the Info i
-Symbol. You can switch all notifications and access options on or off in the settings menu. We use the services of Firebase Cloud Messaging from Google (Android) and Apple Push Notifications (iOS) for push notifications. Firebase and Apple generate a key made up of the app ID and the device ID. This key is stored on our push platform with the settings you have selected in order to provide you with content according to your preferences. Firebase and Apple only act as transmitters and cannot determine any personal data or draw any conclusions about user requests..
7. Access to Information
In accordance with the EU GDPR, you have the right to obtain information whether personal data is stored.
In the unlikely event of the storage of personal data, you may have the right to have these data corrected, blocked, deleted, limited, and to appeal against processing.
These rights may be refused if the public interest, the interest of the respective non-public authority for preserving trade secrets, or the interest of a third party for privacy supersedes. This, however, must be examined on a case-by-case basis. The refusal to provide information must be accompanied by the reasons for this decision.
8. The Primacy of the German Version
The data protection guideline is offered in three languages (German, English and Spanish), but the German text and its components shall always take precedence in case of doubt.
II. Name and Address of the Responsible Entity for Processing
