Style guide for the QS certification mark
To further increase the level of awareness of the QS certification mark and its
signal effect for foods with certified production and marketing processes, the
uniform use of the mark throughout the scheme must be ensured.
5. Correct presentation
Colour variations
The QS certification mark is always depicted in blue with a colour gradient. This
guarantees a uniform appearance in the market and increases the recognition
value of the certification mark.
Size of depiction
The minimum height of depictions of the QS certification mark is 15 mm. If
the size of the product packaging does not permit depiction at the prescri-
bed minimum height (ultra small packaging), deviations from the minimum
height can be allowed in exceptional cases. On request, QS head office will
check to see whether special permission can be granted.
There are no restrictions regarding the maximum height. When
adjusting the size, the extension, compression and distortion of the QS
certification mark must be avoided at all costs.
In justified exceptional cases, e.g. when the production process does not permit
depiction in blue, the QS certification mark may be applied in the black and
white version. The prerequisite for this is explicit approval by QS head office.
Colour gradient
To ensure a uniform appearance throughout the market, the QS certification
mark is always depicted with a colour gradient. This applies to the standard
version in blue as well as approved use of the black and white version in excepti-
onal circumstances.
The certification mark may only be depicted without a colour gradient
if the production process (screening, thermal transfer printing, embroi-
dery, pad printing) does not permit the depiction of the colour gradient
for technical reasons. The written approval of QS Qualität und Sicherheit
GmbH has to be obtained in cases of this kind.
