16 12 07 Mais

With effect from 17 September 2018, the additional control plan Aflatoxin B1 has been revised. Based on existing weather data, on results of the new harvest as well as on gradings made in the past years at the beginning of the harvest, the revision has introduced new risk classifications for several countries of origin concerning the maize harvest.

For Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Slovakia, Spain and the Czech Republic, the risk categorization for 2018 for contamination of maize with Aflatoxin B1 has been upgraded from low to medium. For India, it was reduced from high to medium.

It was also determined during the revision that the grading of a country of origin into a lower risk is now being carried out at the earliest 3 months after the entry into force of the current version of the supplementary control plan.

All changes made during the revision can be found in the revision information. The immediately applicable additional control plan Aflatoxin B1 can be found here.
